New Generation Energy: Educational Program Coordinator
Organization summary: New Generation Energy (NGE) is a Boston-based non-profit that provides investment options in the areas of renewable energy, conservation, and the environment. Our innovative and unique Renewable Energy Investment Note (REIN) program allows individuals, businesses, and foundations to invest in the generation of clean renewable energy such as solar, wind, geothermal, and efficiency improvement. In addition to our note program, NGE engages in education and promotional activities to raise awareness and public acceptance of renewable energy.
Position overview: NGE is seeking a talented and motivated intern to develop PowerPoint and other written materials that will be used as part of our efforts to educate the public about renewable energy generation and energy conservation. These materials will be used during hosted events, lectures, talks, investor seminars, press outreach, and partner outreach. This position involves researching and providing analytical support in connection with the economics of renewable energy, the financing of renewable energy, government and community support programs for renewable energy, and basic energy economics and science.
Key Responsibilities: Researching and developing visual presentation materials, planning and organizing events, researching renewable energy programs, projects and initiatives.
Requirements:
· Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
· Strong organizational skills∙
· Strong analytical and research skills
· Strong graphing and visual presentation development skills
· Background in energy or environmental sciences a plus
· Background in economics or finance a plus
· Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines
· Proficiency with Microsoft applications
· Detail-oriented
· Enthusiasm and creativity a must!
Time Frame: Internship will begin in early January and will require a 3 month commitment. 10-15 hour per week. Unpaid.
