Energy Markets Specialist – Economic and Ancillary Markets
EnerNOC has an immediate need for an Energy Markets Specialist to work in its Boston office. The Energy Markets group supports EnerNOC’s mission through nomination of demand response assets, portfolio and risk management, financial reporting, and quantitative analysis. In addition, Energy Markets provides support to many other departments such as Event Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Sales, and Finance.
Key Responsibilities: The Market Specialist will focus on expanding EnerNOC’s participation in economic and ancillary DR markets. Specific duties include:
o Managing current participation in economic and ancillary markets
o Working with Engineering to support build-out of proprietary provider-facing economic response portal
o Managing and enhancing future economic response participation in coordination with Engineering, Sales, and Marketing o Developing provider targeting, outreach, and training strategies to increase program participation
o Creating energy price forecasting model and distributing reports to providers o Reporting monthly settlement data to Finance
o Performing analysis to inform financial forecasts
o Supporting Sales and Marketing cross-selling efforts
Required Qualifications/Skills/Education:
o 2-3 years experience in the energy/electricity industry
o BA/BS degree
o High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel
o Great attention to detail
o Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
o Ability to perform advanced quantitative analysis
o Strong customer-service skills
Desired Qualifications/Skills/Education:
o MBA/CPA/other advanced degree
o Proficiency in Visual Basic or MySQL
o Experience with Salesforce.com or similar CRM application
